  • LADIES OF LIBERTY ALLIANCE
The mission of the Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA) is to cultivate and empower a unique community of liberty-minded women. Through both networking and educational opportunities, we help women achieve individual goals in the fight for freedom, whatever particular goal that may be. Our ultimate hope is that our organization represents a place where we inspire confidence in women and provide the tools needed so that all liberty-minded women will succeed.

  • The Association of Libertarian Feminists, the Civil Society Institute and Resources for Independent Thinking are co-sponsoring a conference entitled "Authority and Autonomy in the Family" on August 19, 2006 at Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA. Speakers lined up so far include Nathaniel Branden, Peter Breggin (via live video), Susan Love Brown and Sharon Presley. Topics include nonauthoritarian childrearing, nonauthoritarian education, alternative family styles, and egalitarian marriages. Dr. Branden will be speaking on encouraging self-esteem in children and Dr. Breggin will be speaking on encouraging critical intelligence and independent thinking in children.

There's never been a conference like this in the libertarian movement before so we hope that ALF members and sympathizers will support it! For information about this event, see the conference web site at http://www.autonomyinthefamily.org

  • It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan Kennedy Taylor, who was National Coordinator of ALF for many years. She passed away peacefully at 12:30am October 29, 2005 after a long bout with cancer. She was a remarkable women and a great libertarian and will be sorely missed. There will be a eulogy in the next issue of the ALF News. If any of you have memories of Joan you would like to share with us, please send them to us and we will include them in that issue.
